Weekend of Reflection: Yin Yoga and Digital Detox
This past weekend, The Self Hug had the opportunity to co-create two reflective experiences in Jakarta with Houm Yoga (Saturday, 24 May) and Rū Space (Sunday, 25 May). Both events centered around mindful movement, intentional pauses, and guided journaling—tailored specifically for each setting.
Grounding and Stillness with Houm Yoga
Journaling and Yin Yoga at Houm Yoga, Jakarta
The session opened with a warm welcome from Nina Priatna, Co-Founder of The Self Hug and Debbie Nasta, Yin Yoga & Reiki Facilitator, followed by an intention-setting meditation to ease into the day. Participants were then guided to reflect on the prompts in The Self-Reflection Journal:
How are you feeling today?
What are three things you're grateful for?
What are you looking forward to today?
After a grounding Yin Yoga & Reiki session, participants returned to their journals with prompts designed to help them reflect on their experience:
What was the highlight of the day?
How did it make you feel?
What is something you appreciate, and why?
What do you appreciate about yourself today?
We closed the session with a simple yet meaningful prompt: Write a heartfelt letter to your present self. What do you need to hear right now—encouragement, a reminder of your strength, or a moment of honesty?
Digital Detox Sunday at Rū Space
Sound Meditation and Journaling at Rū Space, Jakarta
The experience took on a different rhythm. In celebration of World Meditation Day, we held a special Digital Detox Sunday—a chance to unplug from screens and reconnect with presence.
The session began with a soft welcome, then flowed into a grounding sound meditation, guided by Nina Nikicio—an immersive audio experience to help everyone arrive in the moment.
Phones were off. Minds were clear. We followed with journaling using The Self-Reflection Journal’s prompts to help people pause, reflect, and listen inward.

Across both sessions, participants engaged with The Self-Reflection Journal as a core part of the experience—offering them a hands-on introduction to the tool and an invitation to continue their reflective journey beyond the session.

An Ongoing Invitation
Over the weekend, we witnessed the power of pause—combining breath, movement, sound, and putting pen to paper.
Both sessions reminded us that slowing down isn’t a luxury. It’s a way back to ourselves.
To everyone who showed up with presence, thank you.
And to you reading this, we gently ask:
When was the last time you truly checked in with yourself?
