Wherever You Are, You Belong: Highlights from Ramadan Kreatif Self-Reflection and Well-Being Workshop with @america

On March 25th, 2025, a gentle yet powerful space was created at @america, nestled in the heart of Jakarta, at Pacific Place Mall. Titled “Ramadan Kreatif: Self-Reflection and Well-Being Workshop”, this workshop was a collaboration between @america and The Self Hug, designed to invite participants into a moment of pause, presence, and personal reflection during the sacred month of Ramadan.

The gist of this workshop is about embracing the path we’re on–not the imagined destination, not who we wish we were, but who we are in this very moment. And that spirit was exactly what we leaned into throughout the event.

Redefining Well-being in a Fast Paced World

The Self Hug offers well-being events tailored to your needs. Reach out to us and let’s make it happen.

We began with a personal talk. I had the honor of delivering, centered on the idea of redefining well-being in our fast-paced world. In the rush to chase our goals and “figure things out,” we often forget to simply be–right here, right now.

I shared how I, too, had fallen into the trap of feeling like I’m always behind, always needing to do more. But what if well-being isn’t about achieving a state of perfection or constant peace–but about checking in with ourselves, honestly and without judgement?

That’s where mindfulness comes in: a state of being present with what is. It doesn’t require silence or retreat–it just asks for attention. And that can be cultivated, gently, in everyday moments.

I was amazed by how the audience responded with curiosity and openness in the sharing circle session. Their questions reflected real lived experiences, like:

How can I stay mindful when my emotions feel out of control?

How do I stay consistent with journaling when life is so hectic?

These conversations reminded me how universal the struggle is and how important it is to talk about these things, together.

Grounding Through Guided Meditation

Hana Dameria guided us through the meditation session to check in with our state of mind and body.

After the talk, Hana took us through a beautiful, grounding guided meditation, With her calm and steady presence, she helped us to reconnect to our breaths and bodies, guiding us into stillness amidst the noise of life.

It was a gentle invitation to feel, to notice, to return.

Whether participants were seasoned meditators or completely new to it, Hana created a space that was welcoming and easeful. She offered mindfulness not as a lofty ideal, but as a human practice we can all return to.

Journaling as a Tool for Self-Reflection

The participants received The Self Hug’s Self-Reflection Journal for their journaling practice.

We closed the session with a guided journaling activity, using The Self Hug’s Self-Reflection Journal. Through thoughtfully curated prompts, participants were invited to explore themselves from the first few pages of the journal.

It was a quiet yet powerful moment–pens moving, thoughts unraveling, emotions surfacing. One participant shared that journaling helped them realize how change is still hard, even when they want it deeply. For them, the session transformed their view on being present, from a mental concept to something that could be felt and practiced.

Embracing Where We Are, As We Are

In collaboration with @america. Together, we created a safe and gentle space for us to arrive as we are, and take a moment to reconnect with ourselves.

The essence of the event was not about fixing ourselves, but embracing where we are. Whether we’re in the middle of a transformation, feeling lost, or just learning to pause, that place is worthy of attention.

There is no perfect timeline, no right way to feel. Being present doesn’t mean having it all figured out, but rather it means being willing to meet ourselves where we are.

Through reflection, mindfulness, and community, we were reminded that growth doesn’t always come with big celebrations. Sometimes, it looks like sitting still, be with the sound of your breath, and begins with picking up a pen and journal.

Thank You for Being Part of This Space

The event was also live on @america’s Youtube, click here to watch.

Deep gratitude to @america for hosting this special event and their heartful collaboration.

Thank you to Hana, whose meditation practice held us with such care.

And thank you to every single participant who showed up with openness and vulnerability.

If you were there–thank you for sharing that space with us.

If you weren’t–I hope this reflection offers you a gentle nudge to check in with yourself today.

Wherever you are, you belong.

And that is more than enough.
